The Cairngorms Winter Skills course was great.
I gained lots of experience and knowledge from the Mountain Leader James, and lots of stories and cameraderie from the rest of the group.
It was a good way to start to develop my skills from 3 season hiking and wild camping into the winter season. At each point James provided to us options for routes and activities based on the conditions and aims of the group, from which we then chose. Unfortunately there was not enough snow to build a snow shelter - but the upside was that conditions where good enough for an overnight bivvy wild camp on top of Ben Macdui (a Munro, and Britain's second highest mountain) - truly an experience of a lifetime to be up there at sunset in absolute stillness with clear skies and other peaks poking out of the cloud inversion below us in the valleys. Amazing!

My Dad and I had fantastic weekend away cycling in the Norfolk Broads. Aidan was fantastic guide, taking us on breathtakingly beautiful routes. We camped in idyllic spots and nothing was too much of an ask for the Wilderness Weekend crew. Thank you for a memorable few days!

The canoeing trip was so enjoyable! We loved getting out of the city and onto the water, and with well organised and helpful planning from the Wilderness Weekends team it was super straightforward for us. Not having that much canoeing experience James offered plenty of instruction and guidance so we were on our way with a good paddling rhythm fairly quickly. We had a nice picnic with great food, and spotted plenty of bird life along the way. We would definitely recommend Wilderness Weekends for their excellent service, experienced instructors and fun trip ideas! We will certainly be doing another trip with them soon.

We had a great weekend. James arranged to pick us up at a convenient location and made the whole experience really enjoyable and stress-free. I wanted to introduce my partner to outdoor climbing in a safe way - this was the perfect first experience for him.  James made sure we were never caught off guard on a climb, despite wet weather, and taught us lots about climbing technique as well as safely belaying and using anchors properly. I had not been climbing for a while so confidence was an issue for me and this weekend has definitely spurred me on to keep climbing.  Delicious meals and hot tea when we needed it in the cold. Not having to put up my own tent was a bonus!! A great getaway from the big smoke and highly recommended.

A great day out, with a knowledgeable and friendly guide, along a very pretty, picture-postcard stretch of river, ending at a lovely little riverside pub. Would definitely go again.
