My wife and I really enjoyed working with Mary and her team at VisArts. We had looked at around eight different venues before coming to VisArts. The venue stood out to us due to the space and the flexibility they offered with doing an outdoor wedding versus an indoor one (we opted for an indoor one). The location was also great since we were right by the Cambria Hotel Rockville (a 5-minute walk) and the Rockville metro station, meaning our guests could take the train from the airport. These were all pluses when it came to accommodating our out-of-town guests.
The cost was a bit more expensive than what we were originally considering, and that feeling persisted as we opted for some add-on things like the use of the roof for our cocktail reception, some decor, and a Zoom livestream for our ceremony. In total, it was $6,200 for the room rental package (a Saturday during peak wedding season) and $1,800 for the add-ons. Something unexpectedly nice was that 20% of the cost of our venue package was classified as a donation to VisArts and thus was tax-deductible. We felt good about supporting a local non-profit organization through our wedding.
Mary and her team were incredibly communicative and clear discussing what was expected of both them and us throughout the booking process. Overally, we’d definitely recommend VisArts as a space for anyone considering looking for a venue.

I photographed Sarah and Michaels beautiful wedding here during the winter. I highly recommend it! VisArts has a great space that you can truly make your own. This couple for instance put up colorful paper lanterns that warmed up the venue during the darker winter light. The surrounding area is great for couple portraits and if you're as adventures as my couple you could even go ice-skating. Great venue in a great city! ig @konradbrattke

We used VisArts for our wedding in April 2024. We would absolutely recommend this venue to everyone! We wanted a venue that was close to my husband's family, but we wanted somewhere with an urban feel, easily accessible to hotels/restaurants/whatever for guests, but still had a nice outdoor space. VisArts was absolutely perfect for all of these reasons! We had seen a few other venues that, granted, had more "beautiful" outdoor spaces (though a rooftop is pretty cool), but these places didn't really have "nice" indoor spaces in case of a rain plan. We loved that VisArts is beautiful inside and out, and also supports local art that our guests could look at during cocktail hour! We worked with Danny, and he was absolutely excellent. He was so responsive, and working with him was a breeze. He created exactly the vision we were looking for! Plus, our couple/wedding party pictures in downtown Rockville came out super cool with the art/rainbow benches around town! The price of this venue is also pretty hard to beat, and some of it is tax deductible the following year!

We are so happy with how beautiful our daughters BM turned out at VisArts. Danny and his team were so kind and easy to work with. They really made sure our vision for the event as well as the flow of the evening was successful.
They also have great add-on features which helped reduce the amount of extraneous items we had to rent from other vendors which made planning easier. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend this place enough to people getting married. Everyone on staff is so incredible, but if you are able to have Mary as your coordinator, you will be in the best of hands and will never regret that decision. I simply cannot say enough great thing about Mary. After having a really bad experience with our first venue, and then needing to find a new venue with less than 5 months until our wedding date, we contacted VisArts and Mary responded within less than 24 hours. She invited us to come and meet vendors right away and her kindness shined through the moment we met face to face. Mary handled everything for us, stayed in contact with us while wedding planning, and when one thing was going right, without hesitation she stepped in to help us. Mary made the entire wedding planning process enjoyable for us again and without her, I honestly would have been a stressed out bridezilla. Mary put all my visions to life with our rooftop ceremony and cocktail hour and then completely blew us away with her set up for our reception. Don’t even think twice about VisArts for your wedding, book them. You will never regret it!

This venue is an absolute gem! Mary and all the staff were wonderful to work with. The rooftop ceremony location is modern and gorgeous, with beautiful sail-like covers and some art-deco buildings in the background. Cocktail and reception area look so nice, especially in the evening with the panoramic windows. Comfortable for 60 guests without feeling like we couldn't fill the space, but still plenty of space to spare!
