I'm so lucky to live near this wonderful little art studio—it's NOT just for kids! I've taken a few of the adult figure drawing classes, attended one of the watercolor workshops, and have even taken a couple of their more experimental adult classes. I love the wide range of students—from absolute beginners to humble yet talented artists. I'm always impressed by the excellent teachers that can meet you at any level, providing thoughtful challenges without making anyone feel intimidated, and am addicted to the boost of inspiration I get from each session that keeps the creativity flowing long after class is over. Rare gem. Christie and her team of arts educators are so knowledgeable and genuinely enjoy children. The process-based approach at the Art Annex sets it apart from craft classes and truly lets kids explore their natural urge toward creativity! We live out of town but have been lucky to bring our 2.5 year old twice— it’s our top priority when we’re visiting family in New York! Worth the travel. He has absolutely loved his drop-in classes and we can’t wait for our next trip. We wish we had regular access— if you do, sign your toddler up!

This was my first time taking an adult art class; I probably haven't taken one since college. I took a 4-week adult Watercolor Painting course with Susie. From week 1 to week 4, I see a huge difference in my ability to recognize color combos, shadows, techniques, and adding dimension. Susie is so patient and friendly, and incredibly supportive of each person's skill level, no matter how beginner. The facility provides all materials needed, you just get to show up and "check out" from the stressors of the outside world. It's almost meditative; 2 hours where it's all about watercolor, with help from a pro. Susie really knows her stuff. What a rewarding activity! Really happy I took this class.

We worked with The Art Annex to plan an art birthday part for our now-six year-old. We were so pleased with our decision. Christie and Sam went above and beyond to create the most special day for our child. It was creative, enriching for the children, and easy for us parents. 10/10, highly recommend!

I am so grateful that we have Art Annex in our community! My daughter attends an after school class there and also participated in a weeklong camp. She loves the warm, engaged instructors who find such creative ways of introducing kids to different mediums and processes in art. Classes are small with lots of focused attention but also plenty of opportunities for kids to take the lead and explore their interests. Highly recommend all their programming and am hoping to one day get to one of their classes for adults!

our 6 year old daughter and her 11 friends had a WONDERFUL time doing a customized art project for her birthday. The teacher was great at helping and engaging all the kids, and made this party an easy celebration for us parents

My daughter started going to Art Annex as an afterschool program last fall, and she had so much fun that she asked to attend a second day per week ! All the instructors are amazing and they are constantly coming up with original and fun projects for the kids. I highly recommend these classes for kids.
