I cannot say enough good things about One River, the director, Erin, and the entire staff. We started with my 12 yr old son, who’s extremely sensitive, anxiety issues, etc. He was so nervous to start and Erin WORKED WITH US to help him feel safe and comfortable to begin expressing his artistic side. Fast forward 6 months, he’s growing in the community that is One River. My 7 yr old daughter is also attending now and LOVING the classes AND summer camp. We are planning to stay with them for the long term, now that our 12 yr old wants to become a digital animator!!!! Thank you One River!

One River in Montclair is a private art program that I absolutely could not recommend more. They have a wide range of classes and camps for all levels between the k-12 classes and adult classes that they offer. I personally have had a very positive experience in the multiple summer camps I have taken, as well as the Advanced Teen Shuffle and the Portfolio Development classes that I’ve taken consistently over the last two years. Class schedules are clear and easy to work with, the curriculum is well balanced and easily meets each student’s needs to help them develop their skills, and the materials and mediums offered are always well maintained and of very high quality. The educators and staff are also a wonderful group of supportive and talented individuals who are all extremely knowledgeable, and actively curious about, the arts. They have never failed to motivate exploration and creativity in the arts which is something that has absolutely allowed my artistic career to flourish. As someone who has now been accepted into a highly prestigious art school, I am proud to say that much of my college art portfolio was completely made or at least worked on at One River. Again, I cannot recommend this school enough and I think it should be of high consideration for anyone looking to bring themself or their kid(s) into the world of making art.

The Summer Adv teen camp has been a wonderful experience for my Son who is improving his technique and with the terrific support and encouragement the staff has provided has boosted his confidence on how to improve himself through his art. We look forward to other camps and services in the future. The best experiences he will have is the fun and artistic expression developed from the One River Family of wonderful teachers and students. Thank you for a fantastic artistic program.

My daughter has been coming to this art school for years and I’ve watched her flourish! Their staff is kind and welcoming, their facility is up to date and a wonderful environment for aspiring students. They have many options of classes for l ages, adults too, and even a digital arts lab! I highly recommend it!

My daughter (age 5) has been attending classes at One River Art School since January 2022 and she loves it! The instructors are warm and welcoming. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and she is learning so many art skills (not making crafts). She has really grown and gained confidence this year. She attended two of the one week summer camps (One Artwork a day and Underwater watercolors) and had a blast! I would highly recommend this art program.

I highly recommend One River School in Montclair! My daughter began classes soon after this location opened, she started in Teen Art Shuffle and the instructors soon recommended her for the Advanced Teen Art Shuffle. For the last year she has been in the Portfolio Development class as a senior in high school who is applying as an art major to several colleges. This class has been instrumental in the development of her portfolio. Instructors provide direction but let students take the project where they want to go. Her teacher Erin has been amazing at giving advice, offering suggestions of various media, and letting my daughter use her skills and interest areas to develop a portfolio that is cohesive and expressive of her skills and focus. We are so grateful for this school!

My 12-year-old very much enjoyed One River Art School's digital art classes. The projects introduce them to digital art techniques while nurturing their creativity. The small class size provides a supportive atmosphere, allowing my child to express themselves confidently. It's an inspiring environment for young artists to explore and develop their digital art skills. Everyone is super welcoming and involved, from front desk to the director. I highly recommend their classes and camps!
