My experience with Ted was perfect, and trust me when I say he is the guy you want to trust with your camera. He meets his clients at a Starbucks, so i scheduled a time to meet and he was on time and very professional. My problem was that i dropped my camera, damaging my viewfinder which also damaged a lot of other things inside of my camera causing issues with the screen and the on/off switch ( he explained exactly what got damaged but i forgot) He told me what he believes is damaged with my camera, then he took it to inspect it further. Within 3-4 hours he gave me a call and told me everything about the fix. I had my camera looking and feeling as good as new the next day! I was so happy and I felt comfortable trusting him with the camera. My screen was working along with everything else that was damaged, it was truly as if I never dropped it. I definitely recommend him if you have issues with your camera, he is professional at what he does, great communication, super honest and straightforward, and very quick. 5 star experience!!

Let me tell you something about Cam-Tek and more importantly about Ted, the owner of this business, this chap is an absolute genius and is in my opinion WAY more experienced and technologically advanced that the actual Nikon Camera technicians themselves.

Ted is amazing and extremely thorough, I have a Nikon D850 which I very stupidly dropped which cracked the rear cover and in turn severed the fragile ribbon cables within the actual body itself. I tried fixing it myself, took off the back cover and actually made the problem worse and caused more damage to the already damaged camera, I thought it was a total loss. Nikon themselves wouldn't fix it as i didn't have the original purchase receipt so I was forced to find an alternate specialist. After weeks of searching and screening out the amateur's I came across Cam-Tek and in turn Ted, the owner and I am so grateful I did, Ted was an absolute life saver, so experienced and was able to fix the D850 and bring it back to life at a very reasonable price and in a record time ( I think he only had it for a couple of days and he called and said it's ready 🙂

Don't let it put you off that he doesn't work out of an office, this chap is straight down the line and can be trusted with your expensive camera. He will meet you at a Starbucks, evaluate the product, give you a receipt and then he will call you once it's fixed. Do yourself a favor, if your camera isn't working, call Ted and he will help you out, he is an absolute genius with cameras, truly remarkable what this chap knows abouts cameras.

I needed to have a Canon 17-40mm lens repaired as the zoom function had recently stopped working. After searching the local area, out of state for repair shops, I came across Cam-Tek. Reading some of the reviews, I reached out to Ted on Monday. He was quick respond and understood the problem. Speaking with him on the phone gave me peace of mind,as he is very professional, communicates effectively. We setup a time to meet on the same week on Thursday based on his schedule. Not being from the area, I was driving a couple of hours One Way to meet him. He provided the location information. I met Ted at Starbucks, he was on time, very professional, a pleasure to speak with in person, very helpful. It can be nerve wracking to hand your lens/camera over to someone you don't know. I found him to be trustworthy. He provides receipt with the equipment serial # before he leaves. The repair was done in a timely manner, the > same day and at a reasonable price!
Please note we discussed the timing of the repair within his schedule. He understood the situation and saved us from having to drive in to the area again. We met at the same place and the lens functions perfectly.The experience was great!! Not having to be without the lens for an extended period of time was a blessing. Any future repairs, I will be reaching out to Ted for assistance. I highly recommend Ted and Cam-Tek to anyone who is looking for an affordable & trustworthy professional to handle your camera/lens repairs! Ted, Thank You very much!

Highly Knowledgable, Honest, Kind, and Fair:

My canon M50 took a bad spill, and while trying to fix it myself, I had accidentally removed a port from the internal board. In an attempt to save the camera, I called Ted and asked him if he could make an attempt to save it. Ted was incredibly kind and knowledgable on the phone. We met up the same day so he could get the camera from me. He was very quick to get to work on it. His professional experience had found that during the spill, there was more damage done, and replacement parts would be needed. He had gone the extra mile to contact Canon, look up the parts, and sent me pictures throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, the price of the parts, along with repair, would have put me out about the cost of a new body, so RIP M50, but Ted's honesty and advice were plenty for me to recommend him and share my experience. It's great to know there are honest people in this world that truly care about their craft and the community that surrounds it.

It's a bummer I had to buy a new body, but it was a pleasure to work with Cam-Tek and I will absolutely keep their number saved the next time I need a repair.

Highly disappointed in my overall experience. Felt like my repair was rushed and now I'm paying for it. Had to meet with him twice because it was not repaired correctly the first time. Told me he replaced the shutter and it's reading as 87,000 on shutter count. Also, missing the camera sticker for my camera model on the camera which he said he would mail to me when it arrived.

I had the top cover replaced on my Canon 70D I bought the part online and since he no longer has the retail location met with him at the Premium Outlet mall in Lutz. It can make you a little nervous to hand your camera over to someone you don;t know and watch them drive away but I had read many positive reviews and speaking with him by phone had put me at ease. My repair was done in a timely manner and at a reasonable price.I am currently in the process of having him do some more work for me and I highly recommend for an honest evaluation and repair of your camera if indicated.

I read the reviews on this man's service. He works out of his home and meets his clients in mall parking lots. I read one review where the person didn't want to leave his device with a stranger, and I can understand that, in these days especially . I needed a Canon lens repaired and Canon wouldn't repair that model anymore. I met Ted at a Starbucks, and he was very professional. He knew instantly what the problem was and repaired and returned the lens to me in 3 days. When he returned it to me, he was satisfied with the stiffness of the focus ring. He took it back to his house, and I checked out a new Aldes. He returned in 40 min and it was working great and to his satisfaction . I can't say enough good about this person. He is meticulous, professional, explained clearly what the problem was, very speedy service, reasonable price, and very trustworthy . I highly recommend his services.
